and take a few minutes to actually do something political by contacting a school board member. What's about to happen there is of momentous importance.

Thanks for heads-up. I knew that the science TEKS were being revised and was "sort of" watching it. Science is a huge issue. Kids are failing TAKS. I have to admit though, I really took it for granted that the TEKS would be written without creationism in mind. Ugh! I checked to see who our Board of Education rep. is and how s/he voted. Double Ugh! He voted against pro-science TEKS. I guess if align the TAKS test to include questions about creationism, all will be well...
I have met science teachers, okay ONE science teacher, whom had difficulty with certain aspects of teaching science because their faith in God conflicted with evolution.
Whatever.
I have yet to see how evolution proves or disproves God's hand in creation. Who ever said God was not the engineer of evolution? If you ask me, it is a lot more unfathomable to create an entire adaptable system of life than it is to create a zebra once.
I guess I'll be writing Mercer. Shall I write the salutation to say "Dear Mr. Mercer," or simply, "Dear Idiot..." I'm guessing the latter would not produce the best good will. I hate having to choose good will over accuracy in order to flatter the incompetent.
